Chinese nuke missing!

By Tap-Sum Bong

Beijing, People's Republic of China

Several memos from the Central Military Commission have been leaked into the press today, outlining concerns from top-level Ministers and Generals regarding a 'missing' nuke from the Chinese inventory.

The Chinese government has denied all allegations that it is missing a nuke and questioned the authenticity of the memos.

Western nations have yet to make statements on this matter.

Success of sun light deflecting satellites murky

Pladimir Vutin

Three weeks days, supposedly unknownst to the Russian government, a rogue science program sent a satellite into orbit for the purpose of deflecting sunlight away from the earth. This satellite had been in a steady orbit until a few hours ago.

About eight hours ago, millions of Telus users have noted a failure in their respective network. Upon examination, an increase in the amount of satellites circling the earth apparently prompted a small quantity of space debris to come into contact with the sunlight deflection satellite. This initial collision led way to what was fortunately but another collision which led to the failure of the Telus satellite.

"Er, but it was for the purpose of scientific discovery, right? I think in this instance we need to overlook this minor oversight because it would be sacrilegious to inhibit the development of projects like this," says a Telus spokesperson nervously with two bulky representatives of the Russian Geoengineering Program and a suspiciously large briefcase presumably containing some means of financial alleviation behind him. The spokesperson went further to say that a satellite would be relaunched immediately, and has publicly apologized to all of its customers for this terrible incident.

Russian engineers on the other hand are very happy, noting, "remarkable bounds and leaps in this project!" The scientists have noted this as the first prototype design to successfully remain in orbit. Although it was not up for long, the engineers claim the data gathered will no doubt mark the project's success in the near future. The Russian government also looks favourably upon this discovery, but are inexplicably unable to fund this project further because the money set to fund the project have mysteriously disappeared from the treasury. On an unrelated note, Telus seems undaunted by their own tragic loss of profits.

Greenfeud has something to say about geo engineering

Jean Lalond

Paris, France

Greenfeud has released a public statement to the media showing aversion to the prospects of geoengineering. Greenfeud claims geoengineering to be, "...merely escaping from the problem." The group additionally that the international community should be focusing on developing a new mandate to reduce carbon emissions worldwide and move to greener initiatives, especially with the more supposedly more capable organization now in effect.

"Quite frankly, we don't see geoengineering happening anytime soon. We've been hearing about a multitude of experiments being conducted, but we've yet to hear a similar amount of success stories. Even then, this idea isn't going to magically decompose all the wastes we've accumulated, or even halt their accumulation. We've been running from the problem for several decades now; we're going to have to face it eventually," claims the representative.

The statement was made in a public square alongside a large following. It seems that these sentiments are being echoed by an incredibly large mass of people. Similarly, the speaker made references to more rapport in other developed nations, however these allegations remain unconfirmed.

Despite the label Greenfeud has amassed as prominent "environmental terrorists," the representative made no allusions to any actions to be taken should their statement go disregarded, although there has been a volatile history surrounding this group.

Oil hits a new high

Dick O'Bourke

New York - NY, USA

Oil has hit a new peak price of $350 a barrel, a surge due to multiple acts of hostility committed by several eco-terrorist groups, who have managed to cripple or destroy several refineries and oil rigs around the world.

Spokesperson for ExxonMobil has stated that it will take at least a month before the peak production level can be reached, during which the price of oil is estimated to hang around $340 a barrel.

The Western governments have condemned these acts of terrorism and vowed to take any and all actions to ensure that they do not happen again.

White clouds can refreeze the glaciers

By Juan Geon

BBC Science and Nature has published a report today detailing the possibility of refreezing the sea around the North Pole, involving releasing several chemicals into the sky above it that makes white clouds. This brings hope and dismay for the people around the world, as the sea ice in the region were estimated to be molten by next year.

Initial reaction to this report was varied; several environmentalists are strongly urging the governments of Canada, Russia, United Kingdom, and USA to quickly capitalize on the new findings, whilst others have condemned the report, stating that releasing more chemicals into the atmosphere is contrary to the 'green' movement.

It is expected that various corporations around the world would be lobbying the nations surrounding the Arctic to let 'nature do its work', since the Northwest Passage, created by the melting of the sea ice, would be made permanent and year-round, thus making trans-Ocean shipping much cheaper.

The governments around the world remain silent on this matter, choosing to release no public statements for the time being.
